The NFL issued double fines to Miami Dolphins<\/a> linebacker Jordyn Brooks for unsafe plays in the Week 15 \u201cMonday Night Football\u201d game against the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, the league announced<\/a> Brooks was fined $11,593 for taunting after a second-half hit on Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth, during which he stood over him. Brooks was flagged on the play\u2014a call ESPN color commentator and Cowboys<\/a> legend Troy Aikman labeled \u201cterrible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brooks was also fined an additional $11,593 for a facemask penalty on running back Kenneth Gainwell in the third quarter. Brooks reserves the right to appeal the rulings.<\/p>\n

Brooks was involved in another unsafe play, but the NFL determined Pittsburgh running back Jaylen Warren was at fault; Warren laid a block on Brooks and led with the crown of his helmet and was fined $17,130.<\/p>\n

The Steelers (8-6) went on to defeat the Dolphins (6-8), 28-15. Despite dealing with foot and knee injuries, Brooks told reporters<\/a> Friday that he intends to play Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Brooks has been one of the NFL\u2019s most active linebackers, consistently ranking at the top of the league in tackles \u2014 including leading the league in total tackles with 155 through 14 games in 2025 and posting an NFL\u2011high 20 tackles in a single game in Week 11.<\/p>\n

Over his career, he has accumulated hundreds of combined tackles and regularly contributes in run defense and pass rush, with multiple seasons of over 100 tackles and several sacks.
