NFL fans noticed an unusual trick made by New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart before throwing the football during a practice.<\/p>\n

The move by Dart comes weeks after he was drafted in the first round by the New York Giants<\/a> in the 2025 NFL Draft last month.<\/p>\n

Dart will have it tough to find a path toward being the Giants’ starting quarterback in the upcoming season.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old Ole Miss product is behind veterans Russell Wilson<\/a> and Jameis Winston on the depth chart.<\/p>\n

But Dart could have a trick up his sleeve after a clip went viral of the youngster during rookie minicamp at the Giants’ team facility last week.<\/p>\n

A video showed Dart dropping back to throw, but before he threw the football, he pump-faked and spun the ball in his hands.<\/p>\n

He proceeded to throw an accurate deep ball to wide receiver Beaux Collins.<\/p>\n

NFL fans spotted Dart’s trick on social media.<\/p>\n

“This is lowkey pretty bad***,” one wrote.<\/p>\n

“Dart got a little swag to it,” another commented.<\/p>\n

“This is extremely rare\u2026 most quarterbacks do not do this,” a third added.<\/p>\n

The Giants’ goal will be to develop Dart, who showed flashes in college but will have to work on his mechanics.<\/p>\n

Dart’s flipping of the ball could be looked at as a bad habit.<\/p>\n

He spun the ball during his college career.<\/p>\n

But Dart’s habit seems to be for comfort, and would only be viewed as a negative if he’s performing the action while a pass rusher is after him.<\/p>\n

Luckily for him, he fumbled the ball just 14 times in his four years at college.<\/p>\n

The Giants moved up into the first round to draft Dart<\/a> with the No. 25 overall pick.<\/p>\n

They used their No. 3 overall selection to take Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter.<\/p>\n

Dart will also compete with Tommy DeVito<\/a> in the quarterback room.<\/p>\n

The New York squad will hope to rebound from their disappointing 3-14 season.<\/p>\n
