Coen said because the Jaguars expected Broncos All-Pro cornerback Patrick Surtain II to focus on either wide receiver Jakobi Meyers<\/a> or wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.<\/a>, “a lot of things were kind of set up for Parker to have a day.”<\/p>\n

“So that didn’t just happen,” Coen said. “We prepared that way all week, wanted to get him involved early and he had a look in his eye from a very early start that he was going to have a big day.”<\/p>\n

Washington, who now has 45 receptions for 665 yards and 4 touchdowns with 2 punt returns for touchdowns this season, said he sensed all week he might have a big game.<\/p>\n

“That’s where that confidence comes in, knowing the player I can be,” he said. “This was a big-time game for us and it just happened to be the week where I feel really good. I felt good Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. As we got to Sunday, I was like, ‘Let’s go.’ I was on phone calls with my trainer. I was with my mom this morning. I’m like, ‘It’s going to be a big game.’ I was really excited to make those plays.”<\/p>\n

Said Meyers, “You’ve seen it all week in practice. He knew what the game called for and he went out there and showed it. I’m not surprised at all.
