NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City Chiefs fans in Missouri expressed disappointment and frustration over the team\u2019s decision to move to Kansas, with some calling the move disrespectful.<\/p>\n
At Chappell\u2019s restaurant in North Kansas City, Chiefs memorabilia covers the walls and fans gathered for lunch shared their concerns about the team\u2019s future home.<\/p>\n
\u201cOh, I love the Chiefs,\u201d said one patron surrounded by team decorations.<\/p>\n
Terri Hutchison is a huge Chiefs fan and says Arrowhead is historic and can\u2019t be replaced.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think the number one thing that I like is actually the stadium. Being the loudest stadium, it\u2019s known in the NFL,\u201d Hutchison said.<\/p>\n
She said the longer travel time may keep her from attending games in person.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know if I would go. I mean, I\u2019d probably still watch them, but I would definitely do it on TV,\u201d Hutchison said.<\/p>\n
Shannon Cabanas, who plans to take her son to his first Chiefs game, worried about losing the unique atmosphere.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know where you\u2019re going to be able to replicate that,\u201d Cabanas said.<\/p>\n
James Giovagnoli, who began watching football because his late wife loved it, described his favorite memories of Arrowhead.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou got 70,000 people going crazy and, and you feel the stadium vibrating and stuff,\u201d Giovagnoli said.<\/p>\n
Many fans said the experience will not be the same in Kansas.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll follow them, but we\u2019re not going to be as happy about it,\u201d one fan said.<\/p>\n
Fans said they remain grateful for six more years at Arrowhead Stadium before the team\u2019s planned move.<\/p>\n
