Las Vegas Raiders<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Last week: 32<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Jeanty, the No. 6 pick, hasn\u2019t had the season he and many others expected. But his performance against the Texans (188 total yards and two touchdowns) was a reminder of why the Raiders drafted him so high. Despite the Raiders\u2019 run-blocking struggles, Jeanty has still gained 828 yards and 10 total touchdowns. \u201cI\u2019m sure there\u2019s people questioning and doubting [Jeanty],\u201d coach Pete Carroll said Sunday. \u201cIt can mount on a young guy, can mount on anybody. For him to show like that, it\u2019s a beautiful expression of who he is and what he\u2019s all about.\u201d\u00a0\u2014 <a href=\"http:\/\/espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/47389978\/nfl-week-17-power-rankings-poll-32-teams-2025-best-rookies\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Ryan McFadden;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Ryan McFadden<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">It\u2019s kind of crazy that despite how frustrating this season has been for the Boise State product, he\u2019s still only 172 rushing yards away from reaching 1,000 yards in year one. That\u2019d be a significant accomplishment considering how bad the offensive line has been this year. It\u2019s also attainable since the New York Giants allow the second-most rushing yards per game (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamrankings.com\/nfl\/stat\/opponent-rushing-yards-per-game\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:150.9;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">150.9<\/a>) this season, and the Kansas City Chiefs gave up 164 yards on the ground to the Tennessee Titans last week.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>NFL.com<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">32. Las Vegas Raiders<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Last week: 32<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Pete Carroll might be embattled, and the Raiders might have lost their ninth straight game, but they came out and battled the Texans for four quarters in Houston,\u00a0nearly pulling out\u00a0what would have been a shocking win. The best aspect, regardless of what happens after the season, was seeing\u00a0Ashton Jeanty\u00a0break out for his best game of the year, with\u00a0a 60-yard TD catch\u00a0to give the Raiders a third-quarter lead and\u00a0a 51-yard TD run\u00a0that made it a two-point game with under six minutes remaining. The Raiders couldn\u2019t pull it out, but seeing Jeanty thrive was one of the more welcome developments in a lost season. \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/news\/nfl-power-rankings-week-17-2025-nfl-season\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Eric Edholm;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Eric Edholm<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Even more encouraging, Jeanty broke 11 tackles last week, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/premium.pff.com\/nfl\/positions\/2025\/SINGLE\/elusive-rating?position=HB&amp;week=16&amp;minimum=20p\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Pro Football Focus;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Pro Football Focus<\/a>, which was three more than any other running back in the league. He also ranked second with <a href=\"https:\/\/premium.pff.com\/nfl\/positions\/2025\/SINGLE\/rushing?position=HB&amp;week=16&amp;minimum=20p\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:106 rushing yards after contact;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">106 rushing yards after contact<\/a>, three yards behind Saquon Barkley and 31 yards more than anyone else. Las Vegas Raiders<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Last week: 32<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The Las Vegas Raiders had their best showing in months, thanks to Ashton Jeanty\u2019s breakout game, racking up 188 scrimmage yards and scoring two touchdowns against the Houston Texans\u2019 No. 1 defense in points and total yards. Behind arguably the league\u2019s worst offensive line, which includes a few backups, Jeanty flashed his star potential in a matchup with the league\u2019s best defensive unit. Coming off a career day, the rookie first-rounder proved he can make the best of a bad situation with a subpar supporting cast.\u00a0Still, the Raiders remain at the bottom of the power rankings, in need of a lot of help across their roster.\u00a0\u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/bleacherreport.com\/articles\/25335876-br-experts-week-17-nfl-power-rankings\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Moe Moton;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Moe Moton<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Adding to Moton\u2019s point, 703 or nearly 85 percent of Jeanty\u2019s rushing yards this season have come after first contact, per <a href=\"https:\/\/premium.pff.com\/nfl\/positions\/2025\/REG\/rushing?position=HB&amp;minimum=20p\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:PFF;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">PFF<\/a>. Give the man just an average offensive line this offseason and watch him thrive.<\/p>\n<p>The Athletic<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">32. Las Vegas Raiders<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Last week: 32<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">One concern:\u00a0This Sunday\u2019s game<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Maybe this is too simplistic, but the Raiders\u00a0need to lose Sunday. The Giants have their quarterback. If New York lands the No. 1 pick, it can trade back and load up on picks. But Las Vegas needs the No. 1 pick to get a QB and begin a hard reset. \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6911522\/2025\/12\/23\/nfl-power-rankings-week-17-seahawks-broncos-packers\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Chad Graff, Josh Kendall;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Chad Graff, Josh Kendall<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">I completely agree with Graff and Kendall, but if Las Vegas plays the way it did last Sunday, the offense could easily put up 30 points against New York. Like the Texans, the Giants do have a good defensive line, but the backend of the defense is what separates those two, as the G-Men\u2019s secondary has some major issues. Also, their d-line is built to get after the quarterback rather than stop the run, minus Dexter Lawrence. So, this game is very winnable for the Raiders, and the same goes for next week against the Patrick Mahomes-less Chiefs.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Sports Illustrated<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">30. Las Vegas Raiders<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Last week: 32<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Tough break for Chip Kelly, who was dismissed as the Raiders\u2019 offensive coordinator and may have gotten edged out for the Tar Heels\u2019 offensive coordinator job\u00a0by Bobby Petrino. On second thought, leaving Las Vegas for Chapel Hill sounds like its own version of football hell.\u00a0\u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nfl\/nfl-power-rankings-bears-jaguars-ascend-after-statement-victories\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Conor Orr;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Conor Orr<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Orr\u2019s analysis doesn\u2019t provide any insight into people who are still with the organization, but interestingly, he\u2019s the only person to move the Silver and Black up in the rankings. For the record, the New York Jets (31) and \u201cTopeka\u201d Chiefs (32) are the two teams that dropped.
