Having young, elite talent is a prerequisite for any Super Bowl hopes, and Philadelphia has one of the NFL’s youngest and most explosive rosters. Even after losing 9 nine key contributors or starters in free agency, the Eagles<\/a> reloaded in free agency, the 2025 NFL draft, and with young talent waiting in the wings.<\/p>\n

Pro Football Focus<\/a> recently ranked the top 25 players in the NFL under 25, and Philadelphia had two players make the list, in low spots. Jalen Carter is an All-Pro and on his way to being the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL, but was only No. 17 on the list.<\/p>\n

PFF on Jalen Carter:<\/p>\n

Three-year grade: 83.5Snaps played since 2022: 1,666Average WAR since 2022: 0.34Carter debuted with an excellent rookie season in 2023, earning top-10 marks for his position in PFF overall grade (87.4) and PFF pass-rush grade (84.6). That led to big expectations for Year 2 as he greatly increased his workload.<\/p>\n

While Carter didn\u2019t improve his PFF overall grade, he did continue to deliver the high-end pass-rush upside that we\u2019d expect from a former top-10 pick, ranking in the top five in PFF pass-rush grade (84.4) and pressures (75), and in the top 10 in win rate (12.9%).<\/p>\n

PFF on Cooper DeJean<\/p>\n

Three-year grade: 86.3Snaps played since 2022: 881Average WAR since 2022: 0.55Both DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell are worthy rookie Eagles cornerbacks for this list, though compared to the other larger-sample cornerbacks who made the cut, only one fits into the top 25. DeJean\u2019s PFF grades across the board give him the edge.<\/p>\n

DeJean finished as the highest-graded cornerback in 2024 (86.3) and ranked in the top three in both PFF coverage grade (84.2) and PFF run-defense grade (90.4). He was the only NFL cornerback to place in the top three in all categories. The only thing keeping DeJean from being higher on this list is having played fewer than 1,000 snaps in his NFL career \u2014 the lowest snap count of any player in this top 25.<\/p>\n

During the regular season, Jalen Carter was 4th among interior defensive linemen with an 81.5 PFF pass-rush grade, behind Chris Jones (91.0), Cameron Heyward (87.2), and Jeffery Simmons (81.6) in that category.<\/p>\n

DeJean, who did not allow a touchdown in coverage in 2024, became the youngest player (22) to record an INT-TD in a Super Bowl when he had a 38-yard pick-six against Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl LIX.<\/p>\n
