Week 17 Result: Lost vs. New England 42-10<\/p>\n

The Jets are done with this season. The season itself isn’t over, but it still feels like that’s the case, particularly after head coach Aaron Glenn openly questioned his squad’s effort during Sunday’s meeting with the Patriots.<\/p>\n

At this point, the organization’s direction should be questioned. Glenn could realistically be a one-and-done head coach after seeing the Jets regress and possibly quit as the season nears its end.<\/p>\n

The idea has to be on owner Woody Johnson’s mind while being embarrassed during the last four games and looking to finally address quarterback with a talented rookie who could use an offensive-minded head coach.<\/p>\n

31. That was truly abysmal against the Patriots. They didn’t even compete. Is Aaron Glenn truly safe?<\/p>\n

Everyone is still sure that Woody Johnson isn\u2019t going to fire Aaron Glenn, right? Because Glenn sure did a heck of a George Costanza impersonation at the Meadowlands on Sunday.<\/p>\n

It would be rash to fire Aaron Glenn after one season, but (A.) this is the Jets, and (B.) this one season has been terrible. The Jets have lost six of their last seven and were uncompetitive from start to finish Sunday as the Patriots swept the floor with them. New York has lost four straight games by at least 23 points, and its point differential in December (minus-107) is the worst in the NFL in at least 25 years.<\/p>\n

I have not seen a coach lose his grip on a possible Year 2 as rapidly as Aaron Glenn has in New York. This went from not being a conversation to being a conversation that must responsibly be had.<\/p>\n

What we learned this season: The Jets are more than just a quarterback away.’<\/p>\n

The idea that the roster is good enough, that all they need is a competent quarterback … well, that was blown to smithereens this season. The Jets have been horrible on both sides of the ball, evidenced by their minus-176 point differential — fourth worst in franchise history. With eight returning starters on defense and several key contributors on offense, the Jets expected to be competitive this season under first-year coach Aaron Glenn. Yes, quarterback\u00a0Justin Fields<\/a>\u00a0was a flop, but pretty much everything else fell apart, too.
