<\/a><\/p>\nThe tush push is a play the Philadelphia Eagles use frequently. Shortly after the Eagles won the Super Bowl in February, the Packers submitted the proposal to ban the play that allows the quarterback to be pushed by multiple players to gain a few yards. <\/p>\n
Packers now have revised their proposal to ban \u201cThe Tush Push\u201d at this week\u2019s league meeting in Minneapolis. They are scheduled to vote on it this Wednesday. <\/p>\n \u201cI know we\u2019re not very successful against it, I know that. But to be honest with you, I have not put much thought into it. It\u2019s been around for a while,\u201d Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said at the combine, per ESPN.<\/a> \u201cWe\u2019ve used it in different fashions with our tight end [Tucker Kraft<\/a>]. I think there will be a lot of discussions about it. I\u2019ve got to kind of look at some of the information as far as injury rates and things like that, but we\u2019ll see.\u201d<\/p>\n Eagles HC defends \u2018tush push\u2019 after Packers\u2019 ban proposal<\/p>\n Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni<\/a> defended the tush push after learning about the original ban proposal. \u201cI\u2019ve seen some of the stuff that it\u2019s an automatic play or that it\u2019s not,\u201d he said, per NFL.com<\/a>. \u201cWe work really, really [hard]. I almost feel a little insulted because we work so hard at that play. The amount of things that we\u2019ve looked into how to coach that play, the fundamentals. There\u2019s a thousand plays out there, but it comes down to how you teach the fundamentals and how the players go through and do the fundamentals. I can\u2019t tell you how many times we practiced the snap. We practice the play because it\u2019s not a play that\u2019s easy to practice, so there\u2019s different ways we figured out how to practice it.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a little insulting to say we\u2019re good at it, so it\u2019s automatic,\u201d Sirianni added. \u201cWe work really hard at it. You see it throughout the league. I mean, we saw it in the championship games that a team failed at it and ultimately didn\u2019t end up winning the game because of it. Every week, I watch every first-and-goal red-zone fail, every single time. Sometimes that first-and-goal starts at the 1(-yard line), and you see the team not be able to get in because they\u2019re not able to do that. I think it\u2019s a skill that our team has because of the players that we have, the way the coaches coach it.\u201d<\/p>\n
