The Dallas Cowboys<\/a>‘ offense has undergone a mini-makeover this offseason.<\/p>\n

Dallas traded<\/a> for\u00a0wide receiver George Pickens<\/a>, shoring up the room alongside All-Pro CeeDee Lamb<\/a>. They hope the revamped unit will return quarterback Dak Prescott<\/a> to his 2023 output, where he finished runner-up in MVP voting.<\/p>\n

The talented duo of Lamb and Pickens has some wondering how the chemistry will unfold on the field, especially with the unpredictable behavior Pickens displayed throughout his first three years in Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n

Some of those concerns could subside after both participated in Kyler Murray<\/a>‘s charity softball game over the weekend, where Lamb discussed their collaboration in an interview with DLLS Sports.<\/a><\/p>\n

“We both ones (No. 1 receivers),” Lamb said with Pickens standing nearby. “It ain’t no A, B, none of that. It’s one. You look over there, you see one. You look over here, you see another one. So do what you gotta do with that.”<\/p>\n

Pickens, Pittsburgh’s second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, led Steelers<\/a> receivers in receptions (59) and yards (900) in 2024.<\/p>\n

Lamb has been the unquestioned top receiver for “America’s Team,” leading Dallas with over 100 receptions and 1,100 yards in three consecutive seasons.<\/p>\n

You have to go back to Lamb’s second NFL season (2021) for the last time he split targets with another receiver,\u00a0Amari<\/a> Cooper<\/a>. Since then, no other Cowboys receiver aside from Lamb has surpassed 660 receiving yards or 54 receptions.<\/p>\n

Dallas ranked first or second in points per game for four consecutive seasons before 2024.<\/p>\n

They ranked 18th with Prescott healthy under center in eight games. Prescott posted a career-worst passer rating (86) and QBR (45.6) in those eight games.<\/p>\n

Perhaps the addition of a top-tier talent like Pickens at wide receiver is what the offense needs to return to form.\u00a0Brandin Cooks<\/a>\u00a0signed with the Saints<\/a> in free agency, leaving special teams maven\u00a0KaVontae Turpin<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Jalen Tolbert<\/a>\u00a0to battle for the No. 3 wide receiver spot.<\/p>\n
