Philip Rivers is retiring.<\/p>\n

Again.<\/p>\n

The Indianapolis Colts<\/a>‘ 44-year old QB returned after nearly five years from the NFL to try and rescue Indy’s season.<\/p>\n

Rivers didn’t play poorly, but the Colts couldn’t make it to the playoffs.<\/p>\n

And now, Rivers is heading back to retirement, likely for good.<\/p>\n

He announced his decision in an appearance on Kay Adams’ show on Wednesday:<\/p>\n

Rivers played three games, all losses, but performed admirably.<\/p>\n

His lines in those three contests:<\/p>\n

18-27, 120 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT<\/p>\n

23-35, 277 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT<\/p>\n

17-30, 147 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT<\/p>\n

If Rivers is done for good, he’ll finish his career with 63,984 passing yards and 425 touchdowns.<\/p>\n

Those both rank in the top-10 all time.<\/p>\n

Rivers impressed most people around football with how he still was able to get the job done even after so much time away and at such an advanced age.<\/p>\n

Most will look back on this Rivers cameo quite fondly, including the 44-year old QB himself.<\/p>\n
