{"id":644495,"date":"2026-01-01T02:26:13","date_gmt":"2026-01-01T02:26:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/644495\/"},"modified":"2026-01-01T02:26:13","modified_gmt":"2026-01-01T02:26:13","slug":"seattle-seahawks-safety-claimed-off-waivers-by-panthers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/644495\/","title":{"rendered":"Seattle Seahawks safety claimed off waivers by Panthers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One day after the Seattle Seahawks waived safety D\u2019Anthony Bell, the fourth-year pro was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.panthers.com\/news\/panthers-claim-a-safety-off-waivers-d-anthony-bell-ja-tavion-sanders-ir\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">claimed off waivers by the Carolina Panthers<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sports.mynorthwest.com\/nfl\/seattle-seahawks\/injury-update-seattle-seahawks-left-tackle-cross-jones-49ers\/1834046\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Injury Update: The latest on Seahawks\u2019 left tackle situation<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bell appeared in 14 games for Seattle this season, with most of his playing time coming on special teams. He recorded 0.5 sacks, one tackle for loss, 15 tackles and a blocked punt.<\/p>\n<p>Bell\u2019s 251 special teams snaps are the third-most on the Seahawks this year, behind only fullback Brady Russell and defensive end Mike Morris.<\/p>\n<p>Bell also logged 96 snaps on defense, including season-high 42 in a Week 12 win over the Tennessee Titans.<\/p>\n<p>Bell, who initially signed with the Seahawks in March, has bounced between the 53-man roster and the practice squad this fall.<\/p>\n<p>With Bell gone, the Seahawks\u2019 safety depth is a bit thin.<\/p>\n<p>Seattle has four safeties on its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seahawks.com\/team\/players-roster\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">53-man roster<\/a> in Julian Love, Coby Bryant, Ty Okada and Nick Emmanwori.
