It was the Falcons\u2019 second season and the Saints\u2019 inaugural season in the NFL.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">This will be 113th time (including 1 postseason matchup) that these two franchises will have faced one another with the Atlanta leading the series 57-56.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">While there have been many memorable matchups between these two rivals, the most infamous game was played on Monday, September 25th, 2006, dubbed \u201cDomecoming,\u201d which was the Saints first home game played in the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina. In that historic game, we saw Saints safety Steve Gleason famously block a punt by Falcons\u2019 kicker Michael Koenen with DB Curtis Deloatch recovering the ball in the Falcons\u2019 end zone for a touchdown.
