As Sanders prepares for his final audition against Cincinnati, a concerning reality is emerging about the 2026 NFL Draft class that could dramatically impact the Browns\u2019 quarterback plans.<\/p>\n

In an interview on the Orange and Brown Talk podcast<\/a>, recorded prior to Sanders\u2019 fifth start against Buffalo, The Athletic\u2019s draft analyst Dane Brugler delivered a sobering assessment of the upcoming quarterback class \u2014 one that could force Cleveland into difficult decisions.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf Dante Moore declares, then I think it\u2019ll be Fernando Mendoza, Dante Moore and then that might be it,\u201d Brugler revealed when asked about potential first-round quarterbacks. \u201cI think that\u2019s why you might see a Dante Moore declare or a Brendan Sorsby or one of these other guys. Just because it\u2019s not a deep class.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think if the first round is over and the Browns did not add a quarterback, it was more because they either weren\u2019t able to because of their draft position or just weren\u2019t head over heels over the options that were available to them more so than the quarterbacks that they currently have on the roster,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

When pressed specifically about Sanders\u2019 performance through his first starts, Brugler offered measured praise while highlighting areas of concern.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that more so than the accuracy, it\u2019s the decision-making that he needs to continue and improve, because he, he will make some good decisions, good throws, but then follow it up with a decision that he just can\u2019t get away with. And no amount of accuracy is going to cover up some inconsistent decision-making.\u201d<\/p>\n
