The Seattle Seahawks<\/a> would love to be at maximum health for Saturday’s NFC West division-deciding showdown with the San Francisco 49ers<\/a>. The winner of the Week 18 matchup will possess the No. 1 seed in the conference, which comes with a first-round bye and homefield advantage.<\/p>\n

The biggest question mark surrounding the Seahawks’ injury report focuses on the status of left tackle Charles Cross. Cross has missed two consecutive games with a hamstring issue. He did not practice on Tuesday or Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Cross’ fill-in starter has been Josh Jones. Adding insult to literal injury, Jones has also missed consecutive practices with ankle and knee designations. Head coach Mike Macdonald claimed Jones is simply “banged up,” leading to belief that he’d manage to play if Cross can’t.<\/p>\n

The Seahawks would much prefer to have Cross available. The uncertain status at left tackle is precisely why the team promoted reserve offensive tackle Amari Kight to the active 53-man roster<\/a> earlier this week.<\/p>\n

If there’s a saving grace, it’s that the 49ers<\/a> have been abysmal at rushing the passer this season. They’ve registered the fewest sacks in the NFL with just 18 QB takedowns. That’s eight fewer than the second-worst pass-rushing team (New York Jets, 26 sacks), but hopefully Cross can suit up nonetheless.<\/p>\n
