Pro Football Focus’ Dalton Wasserman<\/a> recently ranked the best situations for rookie quarterbacks from the 2025 draft class.<\/p>\nAs the PFF analyst put it, “Of course, talent matters. But landing spot often plays just as big a role in determining whether a quarterback thrives. Depth chart competition, coaching stability, offensive line strength and playmaker support all factor into a rookie’s chances of finding early success.”<\/p>\n
As for the rankings, Dart’s fit with the Giants landed the 22-year-old all the way at the top of the list.<\/p>\n
“Considering the adjustment he’ll have to make transitioning from the offense he ran at Ole Miss to a pro-style system, Jaxson Dart landed in a pretty good spot in New York,” wrote Wasserman. “Giants head coach Brian Daboll did a spectacular job developing Josh Allen over multiple seasons, and the Giants signed two veteran quarterbacks \u2014 Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston \u2014 to ease the pressure on Dart to start right away. Dart may have led the FBS in passing grade in 2024, but he won’t have to rush into game action before he’s ready.”<\/p>\n
The first-team All-SEC selection enjoyed his best season in 2024, as he completed 69.3 percent of his passes for 4,279 yards, 29 touchdowns and just six interceptions across 13 games for the Rebels.<\/p>\n
Dart finished his Ole Miss career with 10,617 passing yards in his three seasons as the starter, which topped Eli Manning’s previous school record.<\/p>\n
Dart also added nearly 1,500 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground at Mississippi, while his 28 wins and .737 winning percentage as the starting quarterback set new program high-marks.<\/p>\n
