What are the best and worst-case scenario for the Jaguars when it comes to playoff seeding?<\/p>\n

The Jacksonville Jaguars <\/a>have a playoff spot clinched, but we won’t know until after the Week 18 games what seed they will be.<\/p>\n

So what is the best and worst-case scenario for the Jaguars<\/a> when it comes to playoff seeding?<\/p>\n

The best-case scenario would be that the Jaguars are the AFC’s No. 1 seed — although a fair amount of help is required.<\/p>\n

To earn the top spot, the Jaguars have to defeat the Titans, while the Broncos<\/a> have to lose to the LA Chargers and the Patriots have to lose to the Dolphins<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Chargers have already announced that quarterback Justin Herbert will be sitting out in Week 18, which doesn’t help the Jaguars’ chances.<\/p>\n

The worst-case scenario is that the Jaguars are upset at home by Tennessee, and Houston wins in Week 18 against Indianapolis.<\/p>\n

In that instance, the Texans<\/a> would win the division and the Jaguars would be a wildcard team, heading on the road in the first round of the playoffs to likely face either Houston or the winner of Pittsburgh and Baltimore.<\/p>\n

The most likely scenario is that the Jaguars win on Sunday over the Titans but don’t get the help they need to secure the AFC’s No. 1 seed.<\/p>\n

In that case, the Jaguars would be division champs and would host the AFC’s sixth seed at home in the first round of the playoffs.
