The Mentality of Membou
Last week against the Patriots, rookie RT Armand Membou<\/a> allowed just one pressure according to Pro Football Focus. It marked the eighth game this season that Membou allowed 1 or fewer pressures. With one game left to play, Membou is already one of seven rookie tackles over the past five seasons to allow 1 or fewer pressures in at least eight games.<\/p>\n

“I like that he is willing to work and get better every single day, and we see improvement consistently throughout the year with him,” said OC Tanner Engstrand. “I can see the development of the whole body of work starting to come into play with some of the pass protection stuff, and then the run game stuff. And I think we’re starting to see a little bit of a tenacity and an attitude starting to come out just a little bit more than maybe you would have saw at the beginning of the year or even going into the spring.”<\/p>\n

At Buffalo, the Jets will line up the same starting offensive line for the 17th straight time in Buffalo. Membou has been a key piece of a consistent O-line that has opened holes for the NFL’s seventh-ranked rush attack (126.7 per).<\/p>\n

Moore Growth
Amidst a Jets secondary where change has been the constant, rookie safety Malachi Moore<\/a> has become a consistent force.<\/p>\n

Moore posted 7 tackles in last Sunday’s loss vs. the Patriots, recording his fifth straight game with 7-plus tackles, which is the second-longest streak by a rookie behind only Browns LB Carson Schwesinger. Since 2000, Moore’s 85 tackles rank as the sixth most by a Jets rookie defender, only 4 shy of surpassing Darrelle Revis and Erik Coleman for the fourth most.<\/p>\n

“Malachi’s been doing a good job,” said DC Chris Harris. “He’s still a rookie; he’s still growing, and I think the process has been good for him, the maturation from the time he got here as a rookie to where he is now.
