And even though he, like Cracraft, is a former standout WSU receiver, he’s not just looking at it through crimson-colored glasses.

“Man, it says that there might be some young talent that the Seahawks are looking at,” Bumpus said, “and it sounds like Montorie Foster, the receiver out of Michigan State, has applied some pressure. It’s unfortunate for Cracraft because he didn’t even have a chance to defend himself. It’s like they’re sitting at the lunch table talking about him and he’s absent from school, and they’re just going to ride with Montorie Foster.”

Bumpus expects the 30-year-old Cracraft, who played 29 games for the Miami Dolphins over the past three seasons, to catch on to another NFL roster.

“He’s been a solid player in this league – consistent practice squad, special teams, make a catch here and there (type of player).”

Knowing that the Seahawks have found a younger player they’d rather have in their wide receiver room has Bumpus intrigued, though.

“There’s competition in that receiver room and it should be fun to watch. Man, these are the battles that are gonna kind of unfold week after week the closer we get to the regular season,” he said. “… I’m excited because they’re finding players that they’re interested in.
