Green Bay Packers star linebacker Micah Parsons poked fun at his former Dallas Cowboys in a social media post on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Parsons, who was traded by Dallas to Green Bay in August, responded to a comment from Cowboys defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, who was asked how Parsons\u2019 departure affected the Cowboys\u2019 defense, which ranks last in the NFL in yards allowed this season.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know if it changed that much,\u201d Eberflus told reporters<\/a> Thursday. \u201cObviously you have an All-Pro pass rusher that wins really quick, that\u2019s certainly going to help any defense if it\u2019s Micah or if it\u2019s Myles [Garrett] or whoever it might be. That impact player is always going to help to a certain degree on pass downs and other downs. Again, you can\u2019t look back. It is what it is and you just focus on where you are.\u201d<\/p>\n Parsons responded with a post on X<\/a> featuring eight crying laughing emojis. The four-time Pro Bowler followed up with another post<\/a> specifically calling out Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.<\/p>\n \u201cY\u2019all want me to feel bad?,\u201d wrote Parsons, who is out for the remainder of the season due to an ACL injury he suffered Dec. 14. \u201cJerry Jones slandered my name to Cowboys media and national media for months. So I do think I can react to comment if I want to! #respectfully\u201d<\/p>\n Parsons spent much of 2025 in public contract negotiations with Jones. After months of failed talks, the Cowboys traded Parsons to the Packers<\/a> on Aug. 28, about one week before the 2025 NFL season began.<\/p>\n The Packers immediately signed Parsons<\/a> to a four-year, $188 million contract extension, making him the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history. The record was previously held by Cleveland Browns<\/a> star defensive end Myles Garrett, who signed a four-year, $160 million extension<\/a> in March 2025.<\/p>\n Prior to his season-ending ACL injury, Parsons recorded 12.5 sacks in 14 games for the Packers this season. He has totaled at least 12 sacks in each of his five seasons in the NFL.<\/p>\n The Cowboys, with a 7-8-1 overall record, are eliminated from NFL postseason contention. Dallas\u2019 defense ranks last in the NFL in passing yards allowed per game (274) and fourth-worst in points per game allowed (28.4).<\/p>\n Dallas will play its regular season finale at the NFC East rival New York Giants on Sunday.<\/p>\n The Packers, meanwhile, are currently the seventh and final seed in the NFC playoff picture with a 9-6-1 record (with the tie coming against Dallas in week 4).
