Seahawks GM shares positive updates on Bryant, Cross for playoffs<\/a><\/p>\n After a year away from coaching, Carroll was brought in to help turn the Raiders around following last year\u2019s four-win season. Instead, the Raiders will finish with a lower win total and pick first overall in the 2026 draft.<\/p>\n Carroll\u2019s tenure started on a high note as the Raiders knocked off eventual AFC East champion New England 20-13 while quarterback Geno Smith threw for 362 yards in the season opener, but it\u2019s been a downhill slide ever since.<\/p>\n Las Vegas has lost 14 of its past 15 since the opener, including the last 10, and entered its season finale Sunday with the league\u2019s worst record at 2-14. They secured the No 1 overall pick Sunday via a win by the New York Giants, but could have also done so with a loss.<\/p>\n If the Raiders fall to the Chiefs on Sunday, they\u2019d finish the year with the second-worst winning percentage and tied for the second-least wins in a season in team history.<\/p>\n The 74-year-old Carroll, who\u2019s in his 19th season as an NFL head coach, will also set a low mark for wins in a season. His previous low was six in his lone year leading the New York Jets in 1994.<\/p>\n The Raiders\u2019 disastrous offense has been a major part of their struggles.<\/p>\n They entered Sunday last in points per game (14.2), total yards per game (249.7) and rushing yards per game (74.9). They had been shutout twice and held to 10 or fewer points seven times this season. Smith, who was reunited with Carroll when the Raiders acquired him from the Seahawks<\/a> for a third-round pick last March, had a league-high 17 interceptions thrown. And offensive coordinator Chip Kelly was fired following a 24-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 12.<\/p>\n Las Vegas\u2019 minus-193 point differential was also last in the league.<\/p>\n Carroll led the Seahawks to two Super Bowl appearances and the franchise\u2019s only championship during his 14 seasons (2010-23) as head coach in Seattle.
