The 49ers and Seahawks made odd history on Saturday night at Levi\u2019s Stadium.<\/p>\n
In San Francisco\u2019s 13-3 loss to Seattle<\/a>, in which a total of 16 points were scored, the pair of bitter NFC West rivals combined for one of the wackier outcomes in recent memory.<\/p>\n NFL writer Scott Kacsmar dug up an interesting stat highlighting just how historically low-scoring the battle for the NFC\u2019s No. 1 playoff seed truly was.<\/p>\n Stat of the night<\/p>\n Fewest points in NFL history in a game where both teams completed 70% of passes and averaged 4.0 YPC<\/p>\n 1. 16 points – 2025 Seahawks at 49ers (13-3) \u2014 Scott Kacsmar (@ScottKacsmar) January 4, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n You read that right.<\/p>\n On the surface, each team\u2019s offense finished with over 4.0 yards per carry and completion percentages north of 70 percent — two ideal figures.<\/p>\n However, as reflected by the 13-3 score, both offenses struggled to put points on the board.<\/p>\n For one, both the 49ers and Seahawks\u2019 passing games were subpar.<\/p>\n San Francisco\u2019s Brock Purdy<\/a> completed 19 of 27 passes (70.4 percent) for zero touchdowns and one unlucky interception<\/a>; Seattle\u2019s Sam Darnold<\/a> completed 20 of 26 passes (76.9 percent) for 198 yards and zero touchdowns.<\/p>\n The 49ers\u2019 ground game, though, was outmatched all night.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Seahawks finished with 180 yards and a 27-yard Zach Charbonnet<\/a> touchdown on 39 rushes (4.6 yards per carry).
