The Eagles do have the power to block Halaby from interviewing for lateral positions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">This isn\u2019t the first time Halaby has drawn interest as a GM candidate; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bleedinggreennation.com\/2025\/1\/6\/24337286\/eagles-news-alec-halaby-executive-interviewing-jets-general-manager-job-new-york-assistant-gm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">he previously interviewed for the New York Jets\u2019 opening last year<\/a>. As we noted at the time, Philadelphia\u2019s front office is well-regarded around the NFL due to the team\u2019s Super Bowl success. Halaby is viewed as a rising star in part due to his analytics background.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Losing Halaby, who originally joined the Eagles back in 2007, wouldn\u2019t be ideal. But it\u2019s hard to blame the Dolphins for taking a chance on him after inexplicably sticking with Chris Grier from 2016-2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The reality is that the Eagles will probably lose Halaby at some point down the road, if not this offseason.
