It was obvious last year that the Eagles had someone special in Jalyx Hunt \u2014 their third-round draft pick out of Houston Christian in 2024 \u2014, but the edge rusher has made a huge leap in Year 2. He finished the season with 52 total tackles, 24 QB hits, 6.5 sacks, 3 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery, and is the first Eagles player in franchise history to lead the team in sacks and interceptions at the end of the season.<\/p>\n
Hunt was on a mission Sunday against Washington, and was responsible for two huge turnovers including an interception a fumble recovery. Teammate Jordan Davis spoke to reporters post-game and said that Hunt\u2019s penchant for taking the ball away gives the whole defense confidence, especially heading into the postseason.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s a baller, and he\u2019s a ballhawk. And, just seeing [Jalyx Hunt] go out there, making plays, him going out there and showing what type of player he is around the football, it just brings confidence to everybody. We always want to have takeaways on defense, and Kaylx got two of them today, that\u2019s something that\u2019s important for us going forward. We have to make sure we put an emphasis on getting the ball away because possession is everything in the playoffs.\u201d<\/p>\n
