The Pittsburgh Steelers <\/a>have waived offensive lineman Lecitus Smith<\/a>, according to the NFL Transactions page on Tuesday. <\/p>\n

With OTAs a week away, the Steelers<\/a> have two roster spots open to make moves as they see fit before that date. They will want a full depth chart of players to evaluate. <\/p>\n

Smith was released by the Patriots earlier this offseason He was claimed off the practice from theGreen Bay Packers<\/a>in the middle of the season.<\/p>\n

A 2022 sixth-round pick by the\u00a0Arizona Cardinals<\/a>, Smith has been all around the NFL over his first three seasons in the NFL. Over his first three seasons, Smith has played for the Cardinals, Packers, Patriots,\u00a0Philadelphia Eagles<\/a>, and\u00a0Houston Texans<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Smith has played in 18 games and has started three games. One of those starts came last year as the jumbo tight end in the Patriots\u2019 offense, a role he adopted late in the year. He has played at guard and center, making Smith a three-position versatile player over his NFL career.<\/p>\n

He played over 200 snaps in his rookie season, but has not even played 50 snaps since that season.
