The Indianapolis Colts ownership, namely the three Irsay sisters, Charlie Irsay-Gordon (Team Owner & CEO), Casey Foyt (Team owner and Executive Vice President), and Kalen Jackson (Team Owner and Chief Brand Officer & President of the Indianapolis Colts Foundation), posted a letter on X to the Horseshoe Faithful:<\/p>\n
It reiterated many of the talking points that Irsay-Gordon spoke of during her end-of-season press conference on Monday afternoon, where she publicly announced that both embattled longtime general manager Chris Ballard and head coach Shane Steichen would be returning for at least the 2026 campaign.<\/p>\n
Among a large contingent of Colts fans that latest announcement was unpopular and a source of immediate frustration.<\/p>\n
Instead, the Colts have re-instilled the belief yet again that there is even a greater sense of urgency ahead of 2026, that both men made improvements last year, and that the team had an encouraging start (once sitting as one of the hottest teams at 8-2 atop the AFC) before critical injuries in the second half absolutely sunk their playoff chances, ultimately losing 7 straight games in the aftermath.<\/p>\n
I will contend though that every team is technically \u2018competing\u2019 for a playoff berth and the division crown, and that \u2018challenge\u2019 would\u2019ve been a better choice of words there. That\u2019s really my only \u2018splitting hairs\u2019 critique.<\/p>\n
