The Seattle Seahawks signed undrafted rookie wide receiver and kick returner\u00a0Nate McCollum<\/a> to their 90-man roster on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The 5-foot-9, 185-pound McCollum had a five-year college career, spending three seasons at Georgia Tech and then two at North Carolina. After going undrafted, he took\u00a0part in rookie minicamp with the New York Giants earlier this month.<\/p>\n

After posting minimal stats his first two seasons at Georgia Tech, McCollum had a breakout 2022 campaign with the Yellow Jackets, making 60 catches for a team-high 655 yards and three touchdowns.<\/p>\n

McCollum then transferred to North Carolina, where he logged 44 receptions for 469 yards and a TD in 2023. Last fall, he had just 24 catches for 274 yards.<\/p>\n

McCollum returned kicks for North Carolina last season, averaging 26.4 yards on 17 returns. He gives the Seahawks another potential option for their return game, joining a group of candidates that includes running back Kenny McIntosh, Horton, White and return specialist Steven Sims.<\/p>\n

McCollum is the fifth rookie receiver the Seahawks have added this offseason. The others are fifth-round pick Tory Horton (Colorado State), seventh-round pick Ricky White III (UNLV) and undrafted free agents Montorie Foster Jr. (Michigan State) and Tyrone Broden (Arkansas).<\/p>\n

To make room on their 90-man roster, the Seahawks waived guard Sala Aumavae-Laulu. He was a 2023 sixth-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens and signed a future contract with Seattle in February.<\/p>\n
