NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Tennessee Titans are officially in offseason mode, and that brings a long to-do list for general manager Mike Borgonzi.<\/p>\n

The second-year Titans GM will lead the head coaching search as well as manage the roster through the NFL draft and free agency decisions.<\/p>\n

Borgonzi addressed the media Tuesday morning and shared what qualities he\u2019s looking for in the team\u2019s next leader.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s having a clear vision, having standards for what you do,\u201d Borgonzi said. \u201cAnd then, having that person not be afraid of conflict in a negative way, but being able to hold people accountable, is the biggest thing. And how do you do that? That person ultimately has to connect everybody in the building, too. So those are the big things that really we\u2019re looking for. Obviously, they have to have a strategic vision in terms of philosophy in X\u2019s and O\u2019s as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Borgonzi said there is no specific timetable for making a hire, and the search committee will take as long as it needs to find and hire the best person.<\/p>\n

He detailed that the search committee includes himself, president of football operations Chad Brinker, assistant GM Dave Ziegler, football advisor Reggie McKenzie, and vice president of player personnel Dan Saganey.<\/p>\n

Borgonzi also shed light on why the Titans\u2019 head coach opening is an attractive one.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we have some really good people in the building, people that are respected throughout the league in the front office here,\u201d Borgonzi said. \u201cI think that we have a young rookie quarterback that is ascending, obviously will be a second-year player next year.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we have a young nucleus of players that you can build on here, that have started to kind of build this culture the way we want it to be. Jeff Simmons, I mean, who wouldn\u2019t want to coach Jeff Simmons on defense? We have the city of Nashville. Really, it\u2019s a great place to live. And we have a new stadium coming, so there\u2019s a lot of really good, positive things to come here. But the first thing is the people, the people in the building. We have a lot of experience here throughout the building, a lot of good people. And we have support from our ownership group. Amy (Adams Strunk) supports us in everything that we do here.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Titans have already scheduled interviews with Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo (Wednesday), Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy (Thursday), former Cowboys head coach and current NBC analyst Jason Garrett (Friday), former Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski (Saturday) and former Falcons head coach Raheem Morris (Monday).<\/p>\n
