Could a huge part of the Carolina Panthers<\/a>‘ current braintrust be headed to a division rival?<\/p>\n

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Atlanta Falcons<\/a> will interview<\/a> Panthers executive vice president of football operations Brandt Tilis for their newly-created “Football President” position. Per Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the interview is set to take place on Thursday\u2014two days ahead of Carolina’s wild-card round matchup<\/a> against the Los Angeles Rams<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Tilis was hired<\/a> by the Panthers in January of 2024, after spending 14 seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>. He’d play a part in building three Super Bowl-winning teams\u2014in 2019, 2022 and 2023\u2014as their director of football administration and, later, vice president of football operations.<\/p>\n

The Falcons are also expected to interview Chicago Bears<\/a> assistant general manager Ian Cunningham, Detroit Lions<\/a> chief operating officer Mike Disner, San Francisco 49ers<\/a> director of scouting and football operations Josh Williams and former quarterback and current CBS Sports analyst Matt Ryan for the job.<\/p>\n
