The 6-foot-1, 198-pound wideout from SUNY Cortland spent his rookie year on the practice squad. After being retained in the AFC North on a futures contract last January, he was waived at the league\u2019s 53-man roster deadline in August.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Through five preseason appearances, Burgess has caught five passes for 44 yards while averaging 25.3 yards per kickoff return. The Red Dragons product totaled 178 receptions for 3,133 yards and 35 touchdowns across 43 games in Division III.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Miller, 24, agreed to terms with the New York Jets after going undrafted in 2025. The 5-foot-11, 184-pound target caught one pass for 24 yards and saw time as a kickoff returner during his rookie preseason before being waived in advance of the league\u2019s cutdown.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">A former first-team All-American and program record-setter at Monmouth, where his 1,293 receiving yards and 117.5 receiving yards per game led the FCS in 2023, Miller finished at Rutgers. The senior transfer started a dozen games for the Scarlet Knights last year, scoring four touchdowns while leading the team with 59 catches for 757 yards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Fellow wideouts John Jiles, Jeremiah Webb and Brandon Smith reside on New England\u2019s practice squad as January begins.
