CLEVELAND, Ohio \u2014 Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett rewrote the NFL record books during the 2025 season, surpassing the previous single-season sack mark of 22.5 shared by Michael Strahan and T.J. Watt.<\/p>\n

Garrett pressured quarterbacks at a historic rate from the opening weeks through the season\u2019s final games, routinely forcing offenses to commit extra blockers, tight ends and running backs to slow him. The relentless pass rusher recorded sacks in all but four games this season, two against the Pittsburgh Steelers.<\/p>\n

His impact extended beyond the raw statistics. Garrett delivered several sacks in critical late-game situations, including key third downs and final possessions when the Browns needed stops most.<\/p>\n

In a Week 12 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, Garrett recorded multiple sacks, including one late in the fourth quarter, and forced a fumble that the Browns recovered. His closing pressure on quarterback Geno Smith played a major role in sealing the 24-10 victory. The performance earned him AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors.<\/p>\n

The season solidified Garrett\u2019s standing as one of the premier defensive players of his generation. In a league increasingly designed to protect quarterbacks and limit pass rushers, his ability to dominate consistently stood out.<\/p>\n
