The Denver Broncos<\/a> had no problem getting after the quarterback in 2025.<\/p>\n This season, Denver broke its franchise record for sacks; however, it fell short of the NFL’s single-season record<\/a> (72) by four sacks. The Broncos<\/a> finished the year with 68 sacks, breaking the previous franchise record<\/a> of 63, set in 2024. The 68 sacks did mark the fifth-most sacks in NFL history. Denver also had 10 games this season where they recorded four or more sacks, tied for the fourth-most in a single season in NFL history.<\/p>\n Broncos pass rusher Nik Bonitto led all Denver players with 14 sacks, and Jonathon Cooper was right behind with eight. Denver had eight players with four or more sacks, and 12 players with two or more sacks.<\/p>\n Cornerback Pat Surtain praised the front seven for their work this season. \u201cIt definitely feels good,” said Surtain. “It\u2019s a testament to the D-line, the front and how they rush together, how they get into different rushing lanes, different schemes and stuff like that. They\u2019re fundamentally sound. That\u2019s the key to have a dominant defensive line. They\u2019ve been showing it all year.”<\/p>\n Surtain also believes the best is yet to come in the playoffs. Denver has the No. 1 seed<\/a> in the AFC, and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. “I feel like they are going to keep getting better and better in this tournament,” Surtain said. “It definitely feels good knowing that they keep on progressing moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n Need a news break?
