If Philip Rivers has learned anything over the past month, it\u2019s that you never say never.<\/p>\n

The former Indianapolis Colts quarterback reacted Thursday to reports he could be considered for potential NFL coaching jobs.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re talking about one of 32 jobs in the world at the highest level and certainly getting my feet back into it the last four weeks was exciting,\u201d the St. Michael Catholic High School coach told \u201cThe Opening Kickoff\u201d on WNSP-FM 105.5 in Mobile. \u201cBut that\u2019s not something I\u2019ve set out to do like, \u2018Oh shoot, that\u2019s what I want to do.\u2019 I said openly and honestly I love it here and hope to be here a long time.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut, you never rule anything out. We\u2019ll see where that all goes.\u201d<\/p>\n

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported, citing sources, on Sunday that Rivers could end up as a head coach candidate this cycle, and the current belief is that Rivers gets at least one opportunity to interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have not been contacted,\u201d Rivers said Thursday. \u201cWe\u2019ll see as the next few weeks shake out if anything comes up. If nothing else, it\u2019d be a great experience to go through that process, and I\u2019d be honored to even have a chance to interview.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rivers completed 58-of-92 passes for 544 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions this season in a brief return after retiring from the league in 2020.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"If Philip Rivers has learned anything over the past month, it\u2019s that you never say never.
