The Las Vegas Raiders have started the process of replacing the fired Pete Carroll by requesting permission for multiple candidates.<\/p>\n
As based on the NFL rules, these candidates are either on teams that have a bye in this week\u2019s wild-card round or if they haven\u2019t eliminated. So, the fact that they Raiders have to reached to to Klint Kubiak of the Seattle Seahawks, Vance Joseph and Davis Webb of the Denver Broncos and Matt Nagy of the Kansas City Chiefs and former Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski doesn\u2019t mean they are targeting just these coaches. They simply available to talk now during what will be likely be a three-week or so process.<\/p>\n
So, don\u2019t this the early interviews are an indication of interest or where this is going. It will be an on-going process.<\/p>\n
ESPN has reported the Raiders may prefer an offense-first coach to pair with the No. 1 overall pick, which is expected to be a quarterback. That\u2019s certainly plausible. And of the first four reported interview requests, three of the four candidates are, indeed, offseason coaches.<\/p>\n
There has been previous reports that the team may look at first-time head coaches and Kubiak and Davis fit the mold, while Joseph, Nagy and Stefanski, have already been head coaches.<\/p>\n
Davis may be appealing to working with likely top pick, Fernando Mendoza, because he has gone an impressive job with Bo Nix in the past two seasons.<\/p>\n
