It hasn’t even been a full 12 hours since Miami Dolphins<\/a> head coach Mike McDaniel was fired from his job and he’s already receiving offers from other teams.<\/p>\n

After four years at the helm in south Florida<\/a>, McDaniel was shown the door when the Dolphins were eliminated from the playoffs.<\/p>\n

The Dolphins put up a 7-10 record this season and missed the postseason for the second straight year.<\/p>\n

McDaniel’s name is expected to earn plenty of attention across the NFL for coaching positions – with one team not even waiting to pull the trigger on an offer.<\/p>\n

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Detroit Lions<\/a>\u00a0have already contacted McDaniel for their vacant offensive coordinator position.<\/p>\n

Rapoport adds that McDaniel will be ‘a top candidate for any open OC job’.<\/p>\n

McDaniel would find a much healthier dynamic on offense in Detroit – with a solid receiving corps, one of the best backfield tandems in the league and a healthy quarterback in Jared Goff.<\/p>\n

In Miami, while McDaniel did have good receivers like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, he had to deal with multiple injuries to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and an evolving running back room.<\/p>\n

Of course, McDaniel could also find a head coaching job. As of Thursday, eight NFL teams have fired their head coaches – including the Dolphins.<\/p>\n

The other seven teams are the Baltimore Ravens, the Arizona Cardinals, the New York Giants, the Tennessee Titans, the Cleveland Browns, the Atlanta Falcons and the Las Vegas Raiders.\u00a0<\/p>\n

There are also more than enough offensive coordinator openings. One spot could be the Kansas City Chiefs, who are rumored to be moving on from Matt Nagy.<\/p>\n

One person who knows both the Chiefs and the Dolphins is Hill, who responded to a reporter suggesting McDaniel could take the job by saying, ‘Mike don’t fit yall scheme buddy sorry to tell ya.’<\/p>\n
