AP<\/p>\n<p>Hendrickson, who also represents Huskies head coach Jedd Fisch, is the executive vice president of football at Wasserman.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, Williams put his name into the portal despite agreeing to a deal to return to the University of Washington just days earlier.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have to do what is best for me and my future,\u201d Williams wrote in a statement. \u201cAfter much thought and prayer, I will be entering the transfer portal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Various reports stated that the Huskies plan to enforce the contract Williams signed with the school, and may even use possible legal avenues to do so.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The deal with Washington is \u201cin the mid-$4 million range\u201d for the 2026 season, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/story\/_\/id\/47551538\/agent-drops-demond-williams-jr-amid-qb-portal-dispute\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">per ESPN\u2019s Pete Thamel<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/heitner\/status\/2009322572509532664?s=20\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Sports attorney Darren Heitner announced on social media<\/a> that he was retained as legal counsel for Williams.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Williams impressed as a true freshman for the Huskies last season, throwing for 3,065 yards on a 69.5 percent completion rate with 25 touchdowns and eight interceptions.<\/p>\n<p>A year ago, a similar situation took place with defensive back Xavier Lucas, who transferred from Wisconsin to Miami while under contract with the Badgers.<\/p>\n<p>The school did not put Lucas\u2019 name in the transfer portal. Instead, he un-enrolled from Wisconsin and then joined Miami.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/06\/21\/sports\/wisconsin-suing-miami-football-for-tampering-in-historic-nil-case\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wisconsin then sued Miami for alleged tampering<\/a>, although Lucas played this season with the Hurricanes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Amid transfer portal drama, Demond Williams Jr. is now agent-less.
