The Dallas Cowboys 2025 season is one most of us want to forget, but it wasn\u2019t all bad. Some players still stood out despite the team\u2019s lack of success, and some even received recognition for their efforts. WR George Pickens, K Brandon Aubrey, and KR\/PR KaVontae Turpin were just named as second-team All-Pros.<\/p>\n
Pickens making the list is no surprise. Finishing third in receiving yards despite receiving far fewer targets than his fellow leaders, Pickens was a big-play machine in his first year with the Cowboys. This award now adds even more negotiating fuel for his agent as Dallas attempts to re-sign Pickens for years to come.<\/p>\n
The nods for Aubrey and Turpin seem to be more about reputation than their actual performance last year. While still generally considered as one of the top kickers in the game, especially for his big leg, Aubrey\u2019s accuracy was only 85.7% overall. Among kickers with at least 20 field goal attempts last year, that was only the 15th-best mark. Still, even with more dings than usual, Aubrey has the confidence of his team and the respect of his peers.<\/p>\n
Turpin getting awarded is far more perplexing. While he did lead the league in total kick return yards, that was only because he had the most attempts. Turpin\u2019s 26.3 average on kickoffs was one of the lower marks in the league, and he completely disappeared as a punt returner. Not only did he score no touchdowns and rarely help field position, but Turpin hurt the team at times with bad choices and execution on his fair catches.<\/p>\n
Nevertheless, congratulations to all three for being honored. It\u2019s the first All-Pro nod for Pickens, the second-straight for Turpin, and the third-straight for Aubrey.
