The Miami Dolphins have found their new general manager<\/a>, but that won’t end Troy Aikman’s time advising the franchise as the Dolphins remake their front office.<\/p>\n

According to the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson<\/a>, the Hall of Famer and ESPN broadcaster will continue to serve as a consultant as the Dolphins look for their next head coach. New GM Jon-Eric Sullivan, who reportedly has a fan in Aikman<\/a>, along with team owner Stephen Ross are leading the search for Mike McDaniel’s replacement<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One name that is reportedly on their list of candidates<\/a>, along with multiple other NFL teams<\/a>, is former Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh<\/a>. The Dolphins are also expected to speak to Kevin Stefanski<\/a> about their opening.<\/p>\n

Aikman told Dallas radio station The Ticket on Friday<\/a> before Sullivan was officially announced that a member of the Dolphins organization had reached out a few weeks back to gauge his interest in helping Miami find a new GM.<\/p>\n

\u201cI dove into it at that time, and I\u2019m here in Miami now, doing some in-person interviews and zeroing in on a couple candidates that we really like, and I\u2019m really excited about the process,” Aikman said. “I think at first, I wanted to make sure that I could provide them what it was that they were hoping I could. And gave it some thought and then as I dove into it, talked with more people, I became more and more confident that I could. So off we went. And it\u2019s been great. So we\u2019ll see where this might go.
