Detroit Lions<\/a> passing game coordinator David Shaw interviewed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/a> for its offensive coordinator opening on Saturday.<\/p>\n In his first season with the Lions<\/a>, Shaw helped direct a Detroit passing attack that finished the 2025 regular season ranked as the NFL’s No. 3 passing offense, averaging 253.1 passing yards per game. Lions quarterback Jared Goff passed for 4,564 yards and 34 touchdowns, both of which ranked second among NFL quarterbacks.<\/p>\n Detroit had the NFL’s No. 5 total offense (373.2 yards per game) and scoring offense (28.3 points per game).<\/p>\n Before joining the Lions, Shaw served as a senior personnel executive with the Denver Broncos<\/a> in 2024.<\/p>\n Of course, Shaw was the longtime head coach of the Stanford Cardinal from 2011-22, where he won 96 games to become the winningest coach in Stanford history. During his stint leading the Cardinal, Stanford and Shaw captured three Pac-12 titles, appeared in eight bowl games and won two Rose Bowls.
