With the\u00a0Indianapolis Colts’<\/a>\u00a0season now behind us, let’s take a look at how Pro Football Focus<\/a> graded the 2025 rookie draft class.<\/p>\n Below is a look at PFF’s grading system for some context. While this metric is very helpful when it comes to quantifying a player’s performance, PFF’s grading system isn’t the be-all and end-all either. It is one metric out of many that are out there.<\/p>\n 90.0+: Elite80-89.9: High quality70-79.9: Good60-69.9: Above average50-59.9: Average40-49.9: Below average39.9 or less: Poor<\/p>\n Now, here are the\u00a0PFF grades for each Colts<\/a>‘ rookie.<\/p>\n 1.14: TE Tyler Warren<\/p>\n PFF grade: 67.6<\/p>\n Expert NFL picks: Exclusive betting insights only at USA TODAY.<\/a><\/p>\n Warren was one of the top receivers on the\u00a0Colts<\/a>, and among all tight ends, he\u00a0ranked fifth<\/a>\u00a0in receiving yards. Also important, Warren graded out as a solid blocker as well. His do-it-all presence opens up the playbook for Shane Steichen.<\/p>\n 2.45: DE JT Tuimoloau<\/p>\n PFF grade: 60.6<\/p>\n Despite being a second-round draft pick and the Colts struggling to generate a steady pass rush, Tuimoloau played just 215 snaps as a rookie. He logged 14 pressures and no sacks over 130 pass rush reps. He graded out as an average run defender.<\/p>\n 3.80: CB Justin Walley<\/p>\n PFF grade: N\/A<\/p>\n The Colts placed Walley on season-ending IR with a knee injury prior to the regular season.<\/p>\n 4.127: OT Jalen Travis<\/p>\n PFF grade: 72.2<\/p>\n Travis took over at right tackle for Braden Smith in Week 14 and held his own. He gave up one sack and 12 pressures over 175 pass-blocking snaps. Travis graded out well as a run blocker, also.<\/p>\n 5.151: RB DJ Giddens<\/p>\n PFF grade: 52.2<\/p>\n Giddens shared the RB2 job with Tyler Goodson for the first half of the season — a role that was still very small. However, in the second half of the season, he was a regular healthy scratch on game days. Giddens carried the ball 26 times for 96 yards. He did not catch any passes and must improve in pass protection.<\/p>\n 6.189: QB Riley Leonard<\/p>\n PFF grade: 65.5<\/p>\n In that Houston game, Leonard showed that he can be a dependable backup quarterback — assuming the Colts are bringing back Daniel Jones. In that game, Leonard completed 21-of-34 passes for 270 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. On the season, he had two rushing touchdowns as well.<\/p>\n 6.190: IDL Tim Smith<\/p>\n PFF grade: N\/A<\/p>\n Smith spent this season on the practice squad.
