Despite having a breakout year, Pittsburgh Steelers third-year cornerback Joey Porter Jr. was not named first or second-team All-Pro by the Associated Press. He did not even receive a single vote<\/a> from the AP voters. <\/p>\n

Derek Stingley Jr. of the Houston Texans and Quinyon Mitchell of the Philadelphia Eagles were named first-team All-Pro, while Patrick Surtain II of the Denver Broncos and Devon Witherspoon of the Seattle Seahawks were second-team All-Pro. Those are all deserving players, but it\u2019s mind-boggling how Porter did not get any votes. <\/p>\n

Porter, 25, took his game to another level this season. In 14 games, the third-year cornerback recorded 52 tackles, his first career sack, one interception and a career-high 14 passes defended.<\/p>\n

In addition, Porter has not allowed a touchdown on his last 1,467 regular season coverage snaps dating back to Week 8 of 2023, the longest streak of any cornerback in the Next Gen Stats era and more than twice the length of the next-longest active streak, according to Matt Williamson of Steelers.com<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Porter allowed a 53.0% completion percentage in coverage this season (10th-lowest) despite facing targets at an average depth of 9.8 air yards, the second-shallowest among cornerbacks who allowed a completion percentage below 60% on 50+ targets.<\/p>\n

Former All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman even thought Porter was deserving of being an All-Pro. <\/p>\n

Porter was named to Pro Football Network\u2019s 2025 NFL All-Pro Team<\/a>. The AP All-Pro list is recognized as the official one. <\/p>\n

\u201cHolding down the perimeter for the\u00a0Pittsburgh Steelers,\u00a0Joey Porter Jr.\u00a0led all cornerbacks with a stellar 95.3\u00a0CB Impact\u00a0score,\u201d Jacob Infante of PFSN wrote<\/a>. \u201cHe allowed a passer rating of just 56.2 in coverage, deflected 11 passes, and allowed completions on fewer than half of his targeted passes.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Pro Football Writers of America will release their All-Pro team next week. It will be interesting to see if Porter lands on that list.<\/p>\n

Steelers defensive captain Cam Heyward was the only Steeler<\/a> named to the AP\u2019s All-Pro team. He was named second-team All-Pro. <\/p>\n
