This is relevant to the Cowboys, one version of them, because New England was the #2 seed on the AFC side of the playoff picture.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The Chicago Bears are the NFC\u2019s #2 seed and were victorious themselves earlier in the weekend on Saturday night. Chicago took down the Green Bay Packers and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloggingtheboys.com\/dallas-cowboys-draft\/194573\/nfl-draft-order-2026-green-bay-packers-pick-micah-parsons-trade-updated-wild-card\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:solidified the pick that Dallas holds from them as a result of the Micah Parsons trade at number 20 overall;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">solidified the pick that Dallas holds from them as a result of the Micah Parsons trade at number 20 overall<\/a> which was objectively a good thing, but both #2 seeds advancing is bad news for the Cowboys of two years ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">We have to go back even further to understand the point at hand here. The NFL expanded the playoff field to include 3 Wild Card teams per conference ahead of the 2020 season which means that we just wrapped up year number six of life as we currently know it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">There are 12 teams who have been the #2 seed since then and therefore 12 teams who have hosted the #7 seed in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.
