Until they are out of it, the Cleveland Browns fanbase will keep the light on for John Harbaugh to fill their vacant head coaching position. As of now, the Browns are reportedly not out of the running for the top head coaching candidate on the market this year. There are reports that there is mutual interest between the two sides<\/a>, and a Harbaugh hiring would likely be a dream for Cleveland<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Not everyone agrees, as we have a contrarian opinion on The Feed<\/a>, but the Browns have at least officially requested an interview<\/a>, could be lining up coordinators for Harbaugh<\/a>, and seem willing to pay whatever the price is to hire him<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Monday, the Atlanta Falcons reported that they had interviewed Harbaugh:<\/p>\n

This was then followed up by reports from most of the national reporters that the interview had happened. Of course it happened, the team said they interviewed him.<\/p>\n

Then Albert Breer added some nuance to the equation, that perhaps the Falcons\u2019 idea of an interview wasn\u2019t Harbaugh\u2019s idea of an interview:<\/p>\n

Adam Schefter included similar wording when noting the Falcons reported an interview:<\/p>\n

Which is true is probably more about the nuances of words. Technically, Harbaugh may have been interviewing Atlanta to see if they matched his criteria, and the Falcons could have been interviewing Harbaugh to see if they were interested in what he was seeking.<\/p>\n

For Cleveland fans, at least Harbaugh took a preliminary call with the team. Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports<\/a> made it clear that the Browns are in the hunt, according to his sources:<\/p>\n

Two sources on interested teams said their belief is Harbaugh\u2019s top choices among the vacant jobs are the\u00a0New York Giants\u00a0and\u00a0Atlanta Falcons\u00a0in some order. Those sources added the\u00a0Tennessee Titans\u00a0are in third place, while a third, different source said there is real and mutual interest between Harbaugh and the\u00a0Cleveland Browns.<\/p>\n

Jones also noted that the demands reported by ESPN Cleveland\u2019s Tony Grossi<\/a> were not accurate.<\/p>\n

For now, all we know is that Harbaugh has talked to a bunch of teams, the Browns being one of them, and that we are no closer to an answer than we were last week when the Baltimore Ravens fired him.<\/p>\n
