In what is going to be a crucial 2025 season for the Indianapolis Colts<\/a>, there are three current streaks that the team will hope to put to an end this year.<\/p>\n

It truly feels like it is now or never for the current Colts’ regime, which has created urgency this offseason. GM Chris Ballard would spend big in free agency by signing Charvarius Ward and Cam Bynum as he reshaped the secondary.<\/p>\n

Shane Steichen made a change at defensive coordinator as well, hiring Lou Anarumo, and Ballard would also sign quarterback Daniel Jones to compete with Anthony Richardson for the starting job.<\/p>\n

On paper, this is a well put-together roster, but the biggest unknown for the Colts lies at the most important position: quarterback. Ultimately, it is the play of that position that is going to determine the ceiling for this team, and regardless of who the starter is come Week 1, until proven otherwise, uncertainty will linger.<\/p>\n

If the Colts are going to call the 2025 season a success, then putting an end to at least two of these three current streaks will be a prerequisite.<\/p>\n

Indianapolis Colts<\/a>‘ losing streak on the road vs. Jaguars<\/p>\n

The Colts are currently on a 10-game road losing streak to the Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a>. Indianapolis hasn’t won on the road against the Jaguars since 2014.<\/p>\n

The Jaguars have undergone quite a few changes this offseason, from a new GM to a new head coach, and a lot of roster turnover. We could break down what that might mean for this matchup–and we will once we get closer–but whether the Jaguars have been a playoff team or picking in the top 10, it hasn’t mattered much for the Colts when on the road.<\/p>\n

Indianapolis Colts’ playoff drought<\/p>\n

The Colts haven’t made the playoffs since the 2020 season, which now marks four consecutive years that they’ve been on the outside looking in. The team also hasn’t won a playoff game since 2018.<\/p>\n

The Colts have been in the playoff conversation in the latter portions of the last two seasons, but have been unable to come through with those key wins when needed.<\/p>\n

Indianapolis Colts’ AFC South title drought<\/p>\n

During those 2018 and 2020 playoff appearances, the Colts were a wildcard team each year. When it comes to winning the AFC South title<\/a>, that drought goes well beyond 2020.<\/p>\n

The last time the Colts won the AFC South was in 2014. Since then, Houston, Jacksonville, and Tennessee have all won the division at least twice during that span.<\/p>\n

Of course, if the Colts can check this box, it will take care of the playoff drought as well.<\/p>\n
