It may not have been the season fans envisioned, but for Arizona students and teachers, the Cardinals\u00a0were\u00a0still\u00a0champions\u00a0by\u00a0helping fund classrooms across the state through the SRP Touchdowns for Teachers Program.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
For the 7th\u00a0consecutive year, SRP partnered with the Arizona Cardinals on the Touchdowns for Teachers program, awarding $500 grants to two teachers every time the Cardinals scored a touchdown.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This season,\u00a080\u00a0teachers received\u00a0$40,000\u00a0in grants through the\u00a040\u00a0touchdowns scored by the Arizona Cardinals.\u00a0SRP\u00a0commits\u00a0$60,000 to support the Touchdowns for Teachers program\u00a0each year,\u00a0and will provide an\u00a0additional\u00a0$20,000\u00a0to reach that goal.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWith this support, I plan to enrich my classroom by providing literature and resources that will greatly benefit my ESL students,\u201d says Miriam Mu\u00f1oz, ELD Teacher at\u00a0Carl Hayden Community High School.\u00a0\u201cAdditionally, I teach a leadership class called Latinos in Action, for which I intend to purchase necessary supplies to support our leadership projects as well as our Literature Garden.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Since the program started, SRP has\u00a0provided\u00a0over $400,000\u00a0to help\u00a0fund classrooms\u00a0in Arizona.\u00a0Touchdowns for Teachers\u00a0grants give teachers the chance to\u00a0purchase\u00a0essential classroom resources to support learning\u00a0opportunities\u00a0that students might not have otherwise.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
