This news was first reported by ESPN\u2019s Commanders reporter, John Keim.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Following a disappointing 5-12 campaign, Washington fired defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr, with his fate more or less sealed when head coach Dan Quinn took over play-calling duties in the middle of the season.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Scott is one of the few holdovers from the Pete Carroll era, having been hired by Seattle back in 2022. Throughout Scott\u2019s tenure, the Seahawks have developed a formidable secondary, headlined by draft picks Devon Witherspoon, Riq Woolen, Nick Emmanwori, and Coby Bryant. Add in the rise of undrafted safety Ty Okada and the free-agent acquisition of Julian Love in 2023, and the Seahawks boast tremendous depth at a position that was once a scarcity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Seattle\u2019s defensive coordinator, Aden Durde, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fieldgulls.com\/seattle-seahawks-coaching-staff\/159831\/atlanta-falcons-request-head-coach-interview-aden-durde-seahawks-nfl-news\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:has already been interviewed;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">has already been interviewed<\/a> by the Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Don\u2019t expect this to be Scott\u2019s last interview for a DC job.
