The Tennessee Titans<\/a> will interview former Baltimore Ravens<\/a> coach John Harbaugh<\/a> on Thursday, Jan. 14 at his home per a report from The Athletic, connecting the Titans with the most sough-after name on the head coaching market<\/a> in 2026.<\/p>\n

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports that “Titans decision makers” will conduct a formal, in-person interview with Harbaugh in his residence. The Tennessean has not yet been able to confirm this report.<\/p>\n

Harbaugh was the Ravens’ coach for 18 seasons from 2008-25, winning 180 games and coached the Ravens to the playoffs 12 times, including a Super Bowl win<\/a> following the 2012 season. The Ravens fired Harbaugh following an 8-9 finish in 2025. Though Harbaugh hasn’t coached the Ravens back to a Super Bowl since 2012 and has only coached in one AFC Championship game in the last decade, he’s won a competitive AFC North six times and only failed to reach eight wins once in nearly two decades.<\/p>\n

Harbaugh reportedly interviewed with the New York Giants<\/a> in-person on Jan. 14, and the Atlanta Falcons announced a completed interview with Harbaugh on Jan. 12. Multiple national reporters have indicated that the Giants, Falcons and Titans are the favorites to land Harbaugh’s services.<\/p>\n

The Titans are working through a long list of candidates to interview for their vacancy. Harbaugh joins candidates with head coaching experience who the Titans have interviewed or plan to interview such as Mike McCarthy, Matt Nagy, Steve Spagnuolo, Vance Joseph, Steve Spagnuolo, Jason Garrett, Raheem Morris, Mike McDaniel, Robert Saleh, Jonathan Gannon, Arthur Smith and Brian Daboll.<\/p>\n

The Titans have also completed interviews or plan to conduct interviews with interim coach Mike McCoy and potential first-time coaches Jesse Minter, Chris Shula, Jeff Hafley and Lou Anarumo.<\/p>\n

Nine NFL teams have coaching vacancies this offseason. In addition to the Titans and Ravens, coaching jobs are also open for the Arizona Cardinals<\/a>, Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns<\/a>, Las Vegas Raiders<\/a>, Miami Dolphins<\/a>, New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers.<\/p>\n

The Titans fired former coach Brian Callahan in October just six games into his second season. The Titans finished the year 3-14 under the guidance of McCoy. The finish earned the Titans the No. 4 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Titans’ roster is one of the thinnest in the NFL, but some positive factors for coaches considering the opening include the presence of quarterback Cam Ward and defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, as well as more than $100 million in projected salary cap space available for free agency in 2026.<\/p>\n
