Carolina’s offense did take a small step back across the ranks in 2025, where they averaged 295.6 yards and 18.3 points per game. 2024, in Canales’ first season, saw them go for 298.0 yards and 20.1 points per contest.<\/p>\n
Morgan was later asked if he’d also consider adding a new quarterback to develop behind starter Bryce Young.<\/p>\n
“Yeah, absolutely,” he replied. “And I think we wanna add competition to every room. Quarterback’s no different. So, yeah, that could be something that we do this offseason.”<\/p>\n
That’s something Morgan and Canales did in 2024, when they signed undrafted free agent Jack Plummer. Plummer played two preseasons in Carolina before being waived this past August.<\/p>\n
Outside of Young, the only other Panthers quarterback under contract for 2026 is 38-year-old Andy Dalton\u2014who would be entering his 16th NFL season.<\/p>\n
