The Tennessee Titans<\/a> took a significant step forward on Wednesday with their interview of Mike McDaniel, meeting the NFL’s Rooney Rule requirements and bringing them one step closer to hiring their next head coach.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While many fans were focused on Thursday, when the front office was expected to meet with John Harbaugh before he accepted a deal with the New York Giants<\/a>, Mike Borgonzi scheduled additional interviews over the weekend with strong candidates.<\/p>\n

That list includes San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, who will meet with the organization on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Now verified by Ian Rapoport, this connects back to their interview request before the 49ers’ Wild Card victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.<\/p>\n

Saleh has been a hot name on social media in connection with the Titans since Brian Callahan was fired in October.\u00a0With 21 years of NFL coaching experience, he brings the leadership qualities, temperament, and football acumen that Borgonzi discussed during the coaching search.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Saleh also has head-coaching experience, spending three-plus seasons with the New York Jets (2021-2024), where he compiled a 20-36 record.
