Photo by Cole Moore/Rocky Top Insider

Tennessee football hasn’t landed a commitment in nearly three months while one four-star defensive lineman de-committed during that time frame.

While good news has been hard to come by for Tennessee football in the recruiting world, they found some on Tuesday when five-star offensive lineman commit Gabriel Osenda told Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman that he’s “done taking visits” to schools other than Tennessee.

Osenda is one of Tennessee’s highest ranked commits in its 2026 recruiting class. The 6-foot-7, 330-pound offensive tackle ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 246 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings.

But 247sports personal rankings are way higher on Osenda, tabbing him as a five-star recruit and the No. 19 player in the country. According to the 247sports rankings, Osenda also ranks as the No. 4 offensive tackle in his recruiting class and the No. 2 player in the state of Tennessee.

More From RTI: Tennessee Star Snubbed From College Football’s Top Players List

Osenda is originally a Florida native but plays his prep football at the Baylor School in Chattanooga. Baylor lost to rival McCallie in the state championship a season ago.

Holding on to the nation’s No. 4 offensive tackle a year after signing David Sanders, the No. 3 offensive tackle in the 2025 class, and two years after signing Bennett Warren, the No. 7 offensive tackle in the 2024 class, is a major win for Tennessee and offensive line coach Glen Elarbee.

Recruiting, signing and developing high school offensive line talent has been a major issue for Josh Heupel and his staff to this point in their Tennessee tenure. The 2025 season will be the first time that Tennessee starts an offensive lineman that Heupel and his class signed from the high school ranks.

Osenda committed to Tennessee back in January, choosing the Vols over Georgia, Ole Miss, Florida and others. The massive offensive lineman is in line to return to Tennessee for an official visit in June.

Tennessee football’s recruiting class currently contains seven commits with Osenda being the only offensive lineman committed. The Vols’ seven commit recruiting class currently ranks No. 31 nationally and No. 7 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings.

Tennessee Football.
