After his first full season as the Jacksonville Jaguars’<\/a> general manager, where does James Gladstone want to improve heading into Year 2 as the lead decision-maker?<\/p>\n

“I think communication remains to be something that is an area I feel like needs to be improved upon,” Gladstone said on Wednesday.<\/a>” Personally, it’s always a point of emphasis, but it’s never a place where I feel like I’ve done my part. And I continue to seek feedback in that regard internally, obviously, from different departments, as well as I think about Tony and Liam, and I operate in conjunction with each other where it lacks.”<\/p>\n

Gladstone continued, “It’s very straightforward. Negativity tends to fill that void and I got to protect against that and do my part to ensure it’s an area that I continue to assess and improve upon. And that’s never easy, but just like I mentioned at the beginning of the press conference, it’s always ongoing and certainly want to put a lot of emphasis in that as we approach this offseason.”<\/p>\n

Without a doubt, Gladstone’s first season as the general manager was a resounding success.<\/p>\n

As part of the Jaguars<\/a>‘ quick turnaround as they improved from four wins to 13, Gladstone overhauled the roster during the offseason. He also continued to make tweaks throughout the year.<\/p>\n

For the most part, Gladstone seemed to push all of the right buttons.<\/p>\n

Now heading into the upcoming offseason, Gladstone, Liam Coen, and the organization as a whole are much further ahead this year than they were at this point in 2025.<\/p>\n

This time last January, Gladstone wasn’t even hired yet. And when he was brought on board, he had to learn the roster quickly and make adjustments to the scouting and personnel operations on the fly.<\/p>\n
